Todd A. Borak, Varsity Head Coach
Todd Borak has been involved with the Kamiakin Boys Soccer Program for 18 years. He is entering his ninth year as the Varsity Coach. Todd has coached the team to 2 Big 9 regular season titles, one district championship, and one regional crown. He was named the Big 9 Coach of the Year in 2006. He has an overall record of 73-56. In addition, he has led the team to 6 District playoffs in 8 years, including the last 5 seasons in a row.
Todd graduated from Willamette University in 1990 with a B.S. degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While attending WU, he played three years of varsity soccer as a defender. Todd graduated from Kennewick High School in 1986. Though unable to participate in high school varsity soccer (soccer was not included as a varsity sport until the year after he graduated), he played 6 seasons with a Tri-City premier soccer team that won a State Premier Division 2 Championship. He has been playing the sport for over 32 years. In addition to his playing and coaching experience, Todd holds a National 'D' License with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
Todd loves spending time with his wife, Julie, and his 1 1/2 year old son, Connor. Todd and his family, including bulldog Thor, live in Richland (but in the KSD area). Todd is employed full-time as a Chemistry Specialist at Energy Northwest, where he has worked since 1990. In his leisure time, Todd enjoys watching sports, spending time with friends and family, camping, and being involved with his Fantasy Football League. He also stays active in the community and is an alumnus of Leadership Tri-Cities Class VI.

Fred Klauss, Assistant Varsity Coach
Fred Klauss has been involved with the Kamiakin Boys Soccer Program since its inception. He began his association with Kamiakin in 1987 as an Assistant Varsity Coach under Mike Hansen. In 1991 he became head coach holding that position until he relinquished it to the current Head Coach Todd Borak. For the last four seasons he has assisted Todd with the varsity. Prior to coaching at Kamiakin Fred coached at the club and premier levels.
Fred and his wife Susan retired June of 06; Fred spent 28 years in the Emergency Response field, 25 years with Energy Northwest and 3 years with the State of Washington. Susan retired from teaching 25 years in the Kennewick School District. They have been active since their retirement traveling in their motor home, touring other countries, golfing and attending grandkids games and events.

Mike Babenko was a 4 year starter for the Kamiakin Varsity team from 2000-2003. He was a 4 time all conference player including 1st team all conference his Junior and Senior year. Mike was named defensive player of the year his freshman and sophmore year, and team MVP his Junior and Senior year. In 2003, Mike was selected to the Kamiakin Sports Hall of Fame (1 of 14 soccer players).
Mike graduated from Gonzaga University in 2007 with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Finance and Marketing. He played 4 years of collegiate ball for Gonzaga on a soccer scholarship, and was named Gonzaga University Scholar Athlete of the year in 2007. Mike played his entire youth soccer career for the Three Rivers Soccer Club, and won a state title in 2001 with the Three Rivers United boys
U-17 squad.
Mike recently started a job with Northwest Farm Credit as a credit officer. He is spending this Spring traveling between the Tri-Cities and Seattle for work. When he is not working, he enjoys watching sports, hanging out with friends, and trying to stay in shape.

Bruno Vasconcelos, Assistant Varsity Coach
Bruno Vasconcelos joins Kamiakin for his first season as the Braves' Assistant Varsity Coach. Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Bruno has grown up with a great passion for "futebol" (as it is called in Portuguese). Earning a scholarship for an American exchange program, Bruno came to the U.S. in 1998. After high school he attended Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas where he received a soccer scholarship to play as a defender. After two years of soccer with the Thunderbirds, Bruno transferred to Fort Hays University where he then had the opportunity to play on the football team while he completed his B.S. in Business. Upon graduating college he went on to play professional indoor football for two seasons in Topeka, KS. As the kicker for the Kansas Koyotes, Bruno and his team proudly celebrated 2 APFL Championships.
In 2005 Bruno moved to Nebraska where he worked in International Sales and later met his wife, Jamie. While in Cozad he volunteered as the Special Teams coach for the varsity football team and also coached two undefeated AYSO 12-U soccer teams. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, Sofia, last March, Bruno, Jamie moved to Washington to be near their family. Together they now own and operate Script 'n Stone Engraving; providing custom designs for stones and boulders. In his free time Bruno enjoys playing/watching sports, spending time with his family and traveling, most frequently, home to Brazil.

Rich Welch, Assistant Varsity Coach
Rick Welch has been involved with coaching soccer in the Tri-Cites area since 1985. He served as an assistant coach with the Tri-City Express select/premier team from 1985 through 1989 and has also been an assistant with Kamiakin soccer from 1990 thought the present.
Rick is a graduate of Lake Oswego High School, Lake Oswego, Oregon (1972) and received a B.S. in Biology from Eastern Oregon State College (currently Eastern Oregon University), LaGrande, Oregon (1977). Rick played soccer for Eastern Oregon at the sweeper-back position from 1976 through 1977, and has played for various adult league teams in Portland, Olympia, and the Tri-Cities.
Rick is currently employed by Energy Northwest, where he has worked as an Environmental Scientist since 1985. Rick lives on ten acres in the Benton City area and enjoys skiing/snowboarding, windsurfing, fly-fishing, and bird hunting with his Labrador Retrieved Kona.
