	<title>Urgent Help Needed!</title>
	<link>http://www.kamiakinsoccer.comarticle.src?ID=61</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt;We have been offered the opportunity to sell the Fall Sports programs for the high school this year. The good news is that it is a wonderful fund raising opportunity that we have never had before. The bad news is that we need to start this Friday at 4pm for the Freshman game all the way through part of the varsity game. If you are not planning on going to Spokane for the Gonzaga game and have some time on Friday afternoon, evening, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. We already have a couple of volunteers including some of last year&apos;s senior parents but we need some more. We will also need people to volunteer to sell at a few more football games and a few volleyball games until they are sold. It usually goes pretty quickly. We will set that up after this weekend. OUR IMMEDIATE CONCERN IS FOR THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th. The proceeds will be used for the end of the year banquet and equipment and other items that benefit all the players so we need both JV and Varsity parent participation. As soon as we have the details we will get in touch with the volunteers so you know what to expect on Friday. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE OFFERS OF HELP THAT I KNOW WILL COME BACK TO ME. If you have questions, please call Chris 586-8673 or me 948-6102.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

	<title>Parent Meeting: Sept. 1, 2008</title>
	<link>http://www.kamiakinsoccer.comarticle.src?ID=57</link>
<description> Coaching staff was introduced: Head Varsity Coach, Chris Erikson, Assistant Coach Jamie Whitmire, Head JV Coach Lloyd Erikson

Parent Information flyer was handed out and Coach Erikson discussed the various items. Please refer to the brochure if you have any further questions or contact Coach Erikson for clarification. The coaches are willing to discuss most items with parents, they just request that this not be done right before or after games. If there is ever a problem, please come to them so that things can be worked out.

Schedule for practices for the rest of the season will be handed out at the end of the week and also posted on the Kamiakin Soccer website. Practice will generally be 3-5pm at Edison, unless it is at Lampson for turf time and that will vary. Remember tuffy time means be at practice 15 minutes prior
to start time. After start time is late and Coach reserves the right to send a late player home. Coach also tries to end on time as many parents have little ones to get other places.

Bus trips: team will be excused through the office. Players will be told when to report to the bus. Players should bring money and a sack lunch or snacks for any bus trip. There will generally not be any food stops prior to the games and it can be a long day from lunch at noon until after a game
ends at 9pm. Be sure to bring healthy food and drink.

Players may only ride home from away games with their parents or other responsible adults. Players must give note to coach upon entering the bus if they don&apos;t plan on riding the bus home. If there is no note beforehand, the player will ride home on the bus with the coaches.

Weekend Tri-Cities games: no buses provided, please get your player to and from the games. Week day Tri Cities games: bus will usually be provided for JV games, usually NOT for varsity. Buses will not be provided after any Tri-City game. Players and other parents are willing to help if your player needs a ride, just ask.

Currently the coaches are trying to get some additional games for the JV team as there are so many players and they are looking for additional playing time. Check the website for scheduling.

District expectations regarding player behavior (on and off campus). Players are expected to be good representatives of their teams and schools and as such are held to higher standards than ordinary students. All players and parents have signed the district expectations which state that if the player violates the alcohol or substance abuse policies they will be subject to stiff penalties including suspension for 20% of the season on the first offense, 1 full season on the second offense (even in different years) and high school long ban on third offense. Players found to be at events where the alcohol/drug policies are being violated will be considered to be guilty by association. The best rule is to not go there in the first place. If something happens once the player is there, GET OUT IMMEDIATELY.

Absences: All players and/or parents need to contact Chris or Lloyd at 586-8673 to inform them about absences from practice due illness or injury. This needs to be followed up by a written note. If a player is out for injury, a doctor&apos;s note will be needed to return to practice and play. If a player has therapy during a practice due to an injury, please be sure to let your player&apos;s coach know.

A player that misses a game day or part of a game day may not play that day (unless the absence was pre-approved by the office and athletic director -Don Schumacher). A player that is absent on Friday will not be able to play on Saturday.

Varsity letters; player must play in 50 % of the halves (even for just a minute) to be eligible for a varsity letter. Any player is only eligible to play part of 2 halves on any given day so if your player should float from JV to Varsity during a set of games, this will impact how much or how little they are able to play.

Make sure players bring ALL UNIFORM PIECES TO EVERY GAME: INLCUDING RED AND WHITE SOCKS EVERYTIME

New rule on shin guards. Must be NOSCOE certified with tag or stamp visible on the shin guards. Thursday all shin guards will be inspected for compliance. If not compliant, player will not play on Friday. Do not let player cut any tags off of shin guards after inspection for any reason: the referees will continue to check and if the tag is not attached, the guards can&apos;t be work, the player can&apos;t play and will receive a yellow card for the game.

Players will be released this Friday at 10:15, bus will leave at 10:30 for the trip to Spokane to play Gonzaga Prep.

If you didn&apos;t sign up for the Team Dinners or 50/50 and your player is on varsity, please check with Liz Bryant and Lynetta Bigness.

If you have any questions, please contact Coach Erikson 586-8673 or Lisa
McKinney 948-6102.
